Pollwatch 2007

On election day, trained pollwatchers will be fielded at the precinct
level to monitor vigilantly election activities in order to ensure
that the process is fair, clean, honest, and peaceful. PPCRV is
responsible for this task and aims to mobilize volunteers to cover
almost 300,000 precincts.

Operation Quick Count

NAMFREL (the accredited citizens arm for the citizens' vote count),
PPCRV, NASSA volunteers will work with partner organizations for an
unofficial tally of election returns alongside the official Comelec
count.

Bantay Canvass

Trained volunteer lawyers and paralegals of the Legal Network for
Truthful Elections (LENTE) convened by the Integrated Bar of the
Philippines (IBP) and One Voice will monitor the aggregation of votes
at the municipal and provincial levels in over 1,600 canvassing
points, as well as respond to calls for legal assistance.

Other Election Monitoring Work

The Pera't Pulitika project of the Transparency and Accountability
Network (TAN), Libertas, Consortium on Electoral Reforms (CER), the Philippine
Political Science Association-Democracy Audit (PPSA-DA) and the Access
to Information Network (ATIN) is monitoring campaign finance
(fund-raising and expenditures). Bantay Eleksyon of CER is
documenting the whole election process, especially the role of the
Comelec. SLB and the Seminarians Network
(SemNet) are launching a Bantay Text and Blogger campaign
to encourage citizens' vigilance and to monitor/document various
aspects of the election process.

As voter and taxpayer, lets move that the canvassing of votes should be done in OPEN PUBLIC PLACES where every citizens and taxpayers of this long suffering country can view the proceedings of the canvassing. I will join VforCE! God bless the Philippines!
